Monroe-West Monroe BPW Scholarship
The Monroe-West Monroe BPW chapter sponsors a scholarship for non-traditional women students at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. What is a non-traditional woman student? She is 25 years of age or older, and either going to college for the first time or returning to school to complete a degree, start an advanced degree, or obtain a professional certification. Proceeds from our chapter fundraising events are designated for this scholarship fund. We also accept donations toward the fund, which are tax-deductible. The scholarship fund is managed by the ULM Foundation, which is a 501(c)3 charitable education organization. To contribute to the scholarship fund, fill out the donation form and mail a check to the address on the form.

This scholarship fund originated as the Agnes Morris Education Loan Fund and is sponsored and funded by BPW/LA. This scholarship is a continuing education scholarship for woman, age 25 years or older and can be used for an acceptable learning program from an accredited university, college, or technical college, as well as proven coursework for licensed or career advancement. The BPW Foundation established the STEM Career Advancement Scholarship Program in 2011 to provide financial assistance to disadvantaged women seeking to further their education in STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology, Mathematics) fields. Scholarships are provided to women 25 years or older who are 2 years or less from finishing their bachelor's degrees. One nominee per state is allowed, and candidates are nominated by the BPW Louisiana Executive Committee. Over its history since 1969, the Foundation has awarded more than $6 million in scholarships, grants, and loans to over 8,000 women seeking to improve their lives.
